OPV Pharmaceutical JSC is always considered a reliable partner, ready to deliver quality products to customers with a nearly 70-year history in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

1. Overview

Since 2021, OPV has officially become a member of the RV Group – a multinational pharmaceutical firm headquartered in India, with more than 3500 employees in Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and others.

The primary distinguishing feature of RV Group is its high-quality management team with over 100 years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical field. The group is led by Mr. Rajiv Sharma – the Chairman and Founder, who has over 30 years of experience working for Ranbaxy. Following are the professional management positions with more than 30 years of experience at leading generic companies such as Lupin, Ranbaxy, Cadbury, Hindustan Lever, etc., and are currently running the group’s subsidiary companies.

2. Research and production activities

OPV Pharmaceutical factory spans an area of 18,000 m2, capable of producing both sterile and non-sterile products in a variety of formulations such as injectables, syrups, suspensions, emulsions, gels, creams, suppositories, tablets, etc., all adhering to WHO-GMP standards. The majority of the manufacturing equipment originates from advanced countries such as Germany, the USA, Sweden, Denmark, and Italy.

OPV has implemented “Blow-Fill-Seal” technology, which helps create sterile and pyrogen-free pharmaceutical products. Unlike the majority of manufacturers in Vietnam, OPV does not produce beta-lactam antibiotics, cytotoxics, hormones, or other sensitive materials.

According to the Drug Administrative of Vietnam, OPV owns a portfolio of 840 registration numbers – considered to be the most diverse in Vietnam. It not only creates a variety of ETC goods, but it also expands its OTC (items with applications such as antibacterial lozenges, sore throat relief, and flu/common cold treatments). This demonstrates OPV’s dedication to meeting the highest patient needs.

3. Collaborative development

With a long-term vision, OPV always emphasizes the importance of collaboration to achieve sustainable development. Partnering with leading global partners helps create an environment of innovation and development, enhancing the capability to deliver more advanced solutions.

From the drugstore established in 1950 in Hue, OPV became the largest pharmaceutical company in Vietnam in the 1970s and was the exclusive licensing entity of both business and production for leading multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Bayer, Ciba Geigy, Mead Johnson, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Roche, Sandoz, Smith Kline & French, Upjohn, and Warner-Lambert. Throughout that time, OPV built a modern, large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and became a partner with Nestle to build a milk factory for children in Vietnam.

In recent years, OPV has strengthened long-term cooperative relationships with leading global pharmaceutical companies such as GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Otsuka Pharmaceutical Company, Johnson & Johnson, and MSD.
